Making an appointment
To make an appointment simply contact me by phone or email. This is an opportunity to talk about what you are looking for and to discuss any questions you may have.
You can most often expect a response from me within 24 hours.
Sessions, fees and rebates
Within the one therapeutic plan, we may schedule a combination of individual and family sessions - fees will vary accordingly. Standard sessions are 1 hr, initial sessions are usually 1hr 15 mins and couple/family sessions are also longer.
Parents or carers: if your child or teenager is referred for therapy, it is important that you are involved. This may involve a session to think together about your child's current experience and discuss additional ways in which you can support your child; or we may do this in a family session. Half hour phone sessions are also available at a reduced rate. I also offer a number of options for liasing with your child's school, including letters, phone calls and attending meetings.
You may be eligible for a Mental Health Treatment Plan which will entitle you to a rebate on therapeutic services for up to 6 sessions per calendar year (with provisions for 4 further sessions as determined by your referring doctor). To access this scheme, you need a referral and care plan from a GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist. Parent review sessions can not be claimed under this scheme (unless the parent or carer has their own mental health care plan) but are essential.
Click on the government fact sheet below for further information.
I also offer a discount for young people who are lower income earners
For example living financially independently and a student/jobseeker/DSP/trainee or part time.
Cancellation Policy
I require 24 hours notice for cancellation of sessions, to allow for adequate time to offer the session to another person who may be on a waiting list. Cancellations with less notice may incur the cancellation fee of $60.00. Both the AASW and APS recommend that a full fee is charged in this circumstance, however I have have chosen to apply a lesser provision.
