Clinical Supervision
I provide clinical supervision to social workers and counsellors. My areas of specialisation are with children, adolescents, young adults and families. I have 12 years experience in a non-goverment organisation where I worked as a counsellor and caseworker and also provided staff training and supervision. I have previously been employed as a sessional lecturer and casual tutor in Social Work at UNSW.
I have a particular clinical specialisation in using Psychodynamic ideas, Family Systems, Attachment and Narrative theories. I also have a strong interest and training in careful attention to the body in therapy, using approaches such as Mindfulness and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
I have extensive experience in practice considerations such as crisis, child protection concerns, attachment, complex presentations, trauma, violence, legal issues, disability, acute and chronic mental health conditions, grief and loss, social marginalisation, substance misuse, sexuality, gender identity, cultural diversity, homelssness, negotiating complex systems and workplace challenges.
Supervision can be a place of reflection, learning and skills development in areas such as counselling, casework, therapeutic support, family work, intensive support, assessments, client advocacy, case conceptualisation and planning, group dynamics, report writing and advocacy.
I am very passionate about learning and growth and approach supervision from a place of enthusiasm, curiosity and mutual respect. I have a strong interest and skill in the reflexive relationship between theory, practice and use of self; and can support your development in this area. I can teach you specific frameworks and skills for enhancing your professional reflective practices.
If you are interested in talking more about clinical supervision, contact me by phone or email and I'd be happy to meet with you to talk more.
